Sorry for the promo blast on A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S FLING. I know a lot of you aren’t following the blog for that. I will try to get back to movie reviews and such in a few days. For now, though, I am doing quite a lot of gabbing at various other places on the internet and I thought some of you might want to check those out:
*I was one the New Releases featured on the USA Today (!) Happily Ever After blog.
*I had a Weekend Feature at the Fiction Vixen blog, complete with a new, never before seen excerpt from A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S FLING
*I was over at Paranormal Romantics talking about how I decided to handle Shakespeare’s fairies in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
In me-updates, I went to see a bunch of movies recently:
LOVED X-Men: Days of Future Past. It was so, so good and it deserves all the praise it is receiving. Had the usual shortage of female characters problem, but otherwise was very good. After the showing was finished I pretty much just wanted to watch it all over again from the beginning.
Edge of Tomorrow likewise lived up to it’s good reviews. BF and I found it very enjoyable and surprisingly funny. We both agreed we probably don’t need to own it, but if it was playing on TV at some point in the future I wouldn’t change the channel. My favorite part is when Tom Cruise dies. Oh wait…
I also watched A Few Good Men for the first time the other day. I had seen parts of it before, of course, but never all of it together. I might put together a longer post on this one at some point but, in brief, I thought it was very interesting contrasting young Tom Cruise in this with very much older Tom Cruise in EoT. He’s definitely much more contained now, more controlled. And, man, his eyebrows are SO MUCH BETTER NOW. lol.
I’m trying to get a workable writing schedule sorted out. I never appreciated before how difficult it is to juggle things when you have a significant other you wish to spend time with. Being a spinster cat lady was much better for my writing career I think. Fewer distractions. ;P
