I was listening to the Today’s Country Radio Pandora station when the idea for this post came to me. Some of my favorite country songs fall under this category and, ironically, with their fast-paced beats, they’re pretty fun to drive to and sing-along. 🙂
(The embedding tool was being stupid when I wrote this, but you can listen to all the songs on the playlist here.)
“Beers Ago” — Toby Keith
This is kind of Toby Keith’s main genre: Beer and Bad Decisions. I like the bouncy beat on this and the idea of measuring time by beers consumed feels like a very Country thing to me.
“Beer Money” — Kip Moore
“You got the kiss that tastes like honey and I got a little beer money.”
And now, on the “bad decisions” side of things (because of the beer…):
“Small Town Saturday Night” — Hal Ketchum
An oldie but a goodie.
“Mama’s Broken Heart” — Miranda Lambert
Lambert’s kind of country’s #1 bad girl next door right now, and I love her stuff.
“What Was I Thinkin'” — Dierks Bentley
The guitar riff that opens this is pretty much irresistible. And I think this is my very favorite “Beer and Bad Decisions” country song.
Can you think of any songs I missed? 🙂
