Weekend Writing Warriors: Winning By a…Nose?

(Yeah, I really like doing puns in the post title….anyway…)

Today’s Weekend Writing Warriors’ excerpt comes from my first contemporary romance, BEAUTY AND THE BOUNCER, which is currently on submission. This is after the hero and heroine have gotten…cozy. 😉

She bounced her finger on his nose, squishing the cartilage. “You got a great nose, you know?”

“We do not speak of the nose,” he murmured.

She laughed under her breath and crawled up his body to perch with her face right over his. “I like the nose, it’s–ah, what’s that word–Patrician, Roman-esque. Stately.”

Norm snagged a kiss then reclined on the pillows, shaking his head. “The nose is a beak.”

Hope you enjoyed, and don’t forget to check out all the other 8 sentence excerpts this week. :D

Note: I’m out of town this week and don’t know how much access I’ll have. So I’ll say in advance: thank you so much for reading!

  1. “We do not speak of the nose” 🙂 That’s some funny banter. He’s lucky it hasn’t gotten broken in his job–imagine what a smushed beak would look like.
