These are the three newest songs I’ve added to my iPod in the past couple weeks.
(Please note, some of these are pretty old. “New” in this case means “just discovered” and not “just came out”.)
I didn’t really enjoy High Noon (the review is coming soon), but man I really liked the ballad by Tex Ritter (who was the father of John Ritter incidentally…)
“High Noon (Do Not Forsake Me)”–Tex Ritter
And in the totally opposite direction from country folk ballads, we have Carsie Blanton and her clever alternative singer/songwriter sensibilities…The lyrics in this one are biting and a bit dark, but I just can’t fight the beat.
“Smoke Alarm”–Carsie Blanton
And, in still another 180, have some 80s music…I love the musical intro on this one. This is one of those songs where once it starts I have to listen to it all the way through.
“Love on a Farmboy’s Wages”–XTC
